MM Exports was founded in 1957 by Mohanlal Mutha, a determined young man who grew up in Mandawala, a small village in the interiors of Rajasthan, with little or no exposure to the world of big business. But, young Mohanlal was fired by an insatiable desire to explore newer realms and seek out new opportunities. It is this pioneering spirit that took him to Chennai where he started a small, trading business. Very soon, because of his hard work and his keen business acumen, Mohanlal’s small enterprise began to flourish and MM Exports was born, with its first ever office at No. 38, Narayana Mudaliar Street, Sowcarpet, Chennai.

Today, with the third generation of the Mutha family involved in its operations and management, MM Exports has grown exponentially to become a leading turnkey solutions provider, dealing in Food Commodities, Construction Materials, and Building.

Headquartered in Chennai, the company has liaison offices in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Tuticorin as well as in International trading cities like Maldives, Singapore, Tanzania and UAE. ISO 9001: 2015 certified, MM Exports also has the privilege of being a Government Accredited Three Star Export House for meeting International standards of quality and excellence.

One of the most impressive and significant chapters in the MM Exports story relates to how the company entered the Maldives market and soon became the most trusted vendor of choice for all the main business houses and the Government Ministries of the country. In fact, it is a matter of great pride that at a time when the Maldives was importing mainly from Taiwan, Singapore and Europe, MM Exports was instrumental in changing the general mindset in the country that Indian products were not of good quality.

Believing that no opportunity is too small, our impeccable business practices helped us build relationships of trust in the country and soon opened the floodgates for more orders. From its humble start in the county with 500 sarongs, MM Exports was soon shipping a variety of products in huge quantities – hand-tools, bicycles, fans, generators, tractors, buses and even products from large, reputed manufacturers.
